love note engine

love note is a toy version of love letter in pure vanilla javascript. it's intended as an alternative to (but not a replacement for) lovejs. it's also an alternative engine if you don't have access to love2d.

love note has less functions, so while note scripts work perfectly in letter, the opposite might not be the case. like the name implies, love note is meant for simpler and shorter vns.

download the latest release or view the source on github. i'm not distributing a font with this, so it's even lighter ← minification freak. ~150kb babey!

changes

no sprite positioning or movement, although the engine ignores that gracefully.
no real dedicated title or end screen.
no auto advancing text.
responsive.
graphical ui, so you can mute / fullscreen / return without a keyboard.

demo

i tried my best to make love note responsive, but this might look a little awkward on smaller screens. you can also view it in its own page, instead of the iframe. though that probably won't help, in that case.

since i'm on neocities' free tier, i can't host any audio. you can view the proper thing (also the most up-to-date version of the engine / demo [for better or worse?]) over at github pages. just the presence of audio isn't all that impressive though.
